The Chinese Take-Out Container is actually an American innovation influenced by origami. Frederick Weeks Wilcox patented the paper pail. It's a single piece of cardstock folded and secured with a wire to create a leakproof container. When the wire is removed, the flat interior creates a surface from which you can eat.
